Michael J. Wiggins
Michael Wiggins is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who has defended and tried cases in more than 20 states and federal jurisdictions throughout the United States. For decades, his practice focused on catastrophic injury, products liability, mass tort, and complex commercial litigation involving the automotive, consumer products, industrial equipment, and medical device industries.
He has served as lead, regional, and national counsel in complex multi-party litigation and has led or co-led trial teams in cases involving claims exceeding $100 million. His experience includes managing coordinated defense teams, evaluating significant financial exposure, and guiding clients through the strategic realities of trial.
As a mediator, Michael applies practical trial analysis, careful preparation, and candid risk assessment to help parties reach informed resolution. He understands how cases are framed for juries, how damages are evaluated, and how litigation pressures evolve. His approach is grounded in credibility, direct communication, and a clear understanding of litigation risk.
Michaelhas been recognized for more than 15 consecutive years by Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, Florida’s Legal Elite, and Orlando Magazine’s Best Lawyers. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.
He is also the co-founder and former Chairman of Cannonball Kids cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to funding clinical research for childhood cancers. The foundation has funded more than $5 million in pediatric cancer clinical trials.
Michael lives in Orlando with his wife, Melissa, and their family.
